Today a few of the people in my Mom's group went to Animal Friends, a local animal shelter. Because of the low numbers attending, we could bring Adrienne and Maya along with us. The kids learned how to approach a dog to pet, toured the cat and dog cages, and fed rabbits. The shelter does a great job at providing the animals with nice homes - there are lots of volunteers who walk and groom them, and the cats even get special time in big rooms that are set up like houses! Liam and Maya really love animals, so they had a blast!
Learning how to offer a fist for a strange dog to smell. Then they were allowed to pet the dog's shoulder after asking, "Pet, please?". It was a little hard for Liam to restrain himself and pet just a shoulder, since he is used to climbing all over Kodie!

Feeding a rabbit some parsley. Liam chose to stick the parsley in the cage door rather than hold it for the rabbit.

The kids were given shoelaces to dangle in front of the cats. Liam and Maya thought this was really fun!
